SolusVM Master Installation

We will install and configure SolusVM Master on your server, optionally link it with your WHMCS installation, and answer any initial questions you have (within reason). On request we can install OpenVZ on the same server, but we strongly discourage this for security reasons.

• Disable unnecesarry services
• Mount /tmp, /var/tmp and /dev/shm with noexec,nosuid options
• Disable dangerous binaries for normal users
• Install/configure sysstat, iotop, iftop utilities
• Install/configure NTP for automatic time syncronisation
• Install SolusVM Master software
• Check/configure SolusVM in-built security settings
• (If Applicable) Install CLI utilities for common Hardware RAID controllers
• (Optional) Setup email raid notifications for mdadm, 3ware or adaptec RAID
• (Optional) Disable direct root login to SSH and configure a wheel user
• (Optional) Configure SSH login email notifications for wheel user
• (Optional) Install the SolusVM WHMCS Module, and creation of 1 demo package

SolusVM Slave Installation

We will install and configure SolusVM Slave on your server, with your choice of virtualization technology.

• Check OS configuration, runlevel and adjust partition structure if requried
• Install latest operating system updates and kernel
• Check for system users with shell access
• Disable unnecesarry services
• Mount /tmp, /var/tmp and /dev/shm with noexec,nosuid options
• Disable dangerous binaries for normal users
• Install/configure sysstat, iotop, iftop utilities
• Install/configure NTP for automatic time syncronisation
• Install Xen 4, or OpenVZ Virtualization software
• Configure platform-specific settings for performance, stability & security
• Install SolusVM Slave software
• (If Applicable) Install CLI utilities for common Hardware RAID controllers
• (Optional) Setup email raid notifications for mdadm, 3ware or adaptec RAID
• (Optional) Disable direct root login to SSH and configure a wheel user
• (Optional) Configure SSH login email notifications for wheel user
• (Optional) Remote OS installation via KVM-over-IP - Additional charge of £15.00 required
  

SolusVM Upgrade/Audit

If you have a SolusVM server which we didn't setup, or you want to ensure it is configured optimally with the latest software, this is the option for you.

• Check OS configuration & runlevel
• Install latest operating system updates and kernel
• Install latest updates for your Virtualization technology
• Check platform-specific settings for performance, stability & security
• Check system services & disable if unnecesarry
• Check for users with regular shell access
• Check permissions on /tmp, /var/tmp, /dev/shm and adjust if necesarry
• Check/Install useful utilities sysstat, iotop, iftop if not present
• Check health of RAID array, or individual HDD in your server (Requires S.M.A.R.T enabled in BIOS)
• Check server load, I/O and CPU usage. Identify VPS causing high load

VPS Migration and Backup Restoration
